AdekunleWhat started off as seeing an amazing image!!!!
We were introduced by a mutual friend via a telephone conversation after I saw a picture of her. I got her contact details with the intentions to call but never found the perfect time to make that call 2weeks down the line.
We eventually spoke and for some reasons, I felt at peace talking to her. She had this different vibe on her thought process from our conversation. As a guy man, I swiftly set an appointment for us to meet and get to know each other well in the way of the Lord. Lol
The Intro
I met Ade in the year 2015 while preparing for my NYSC program through one of my closest friends. She just got back from Lagos where she resides and was like one of Bisi’s (her boyfriend now fiancé) friends likes you and he’s going to call you oh so make sure you pick your call because you no get sense, lol.
First Conversation
He (Ade) did not call and I totally forgot about it as well because I can be very bad when it comes to calls. After about two (2) weeks later, I remembered and asked my friend (Kenny) about him. I was like how far the person wey you talk say go call me? I no see any call oh and she told me she was going to ask her boyfriend when they talk.
I got a call later from him and we spoke like we have known each other for years and we both agreed to see each other during the Muslim Eid break.
First Date
We met as planned and our first date went by so fast because we connected, enjoyed each other’s company and spoke at lent. Part of what we discussed was what he wanted from the relationship (I gats ask am oh cos I no dey like assumptions and stories that touch, trust Yoruba demon now). However, He was very direct with his response, in his words, “I really like you; I want to get to know you and give love a chance” and that was it for me as I kept blushing.
The Proposal
On the 21st of June 2020, I was supposed to attend a surprise birthday party with Ade in honor of my very close friend (Tosin)’s husband in Radisson hotel at GRA, Ikeja, Lagos. I was so shocked when I walked into a well-planned surprise party by himself (Ade) and my Close friends and family. I was still trying to put myself together to understand the whole event then I saw my Husband-Man on his knees. Wawu!!!!!!!! He popped the question, will u marry me? after a well structured, heart felt speech-and I said YES with a big SMILE on my face. We are so looking forward to starting this new chapter together, and can’t wait to celebrate with all of our favourite people.
